The best part of my job is the multidisciplinary collaboration between departments at Gram Equipment and being able to use the work and ideas that originate from Engineering to help solve challenges across the organization. Through this process, I get to view our company from different perspectives, which often leads to a deeper understanding and helps identify the root causes of problems. Working together with other departments is where perspectives shift, new methods are uncovered, and fresh ideas and solutions emerge - things that wouldn't happen if I worked in isolation. It's truly rewarding to be part of solutions that don't just help one person or one department, but benefit the entire organization. That's the best part of my job.
The first part of my day is spent ensuring that servers and programs are running as expected. After that, I focus on the projects and tasks Im currently working on. Typically, I collaborate with IT colleagues, ERP or CAD consultants, or other departments within the organization to maintain and develop new tools or to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
I am responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting our CAD, PDM, and ERP systems, with a specific focus on engineering-related areas. The overall goal is to ensure that all data created by the Engineering department can be seamlessly accessed and utilized across all other departments. I also work closely with the Project Management department to further integrate and optimize their tools, helping to minimize the time spent searching for data.
I started as a consultant and quickly grew very fond of the tasks that came with the job. There was a strong sense of unity within the department, which I truly enjoyed, along with the positive atmosphere among my colleagues. I was never alone in completing my tasks; we worked together toward a common goal and shared plenty of laughter along the way. The technical challenges were exciting, but it was the smiles, laughter, and positive spirit that ultimately convinced me to join Gram Equipment.
