Our Story

From a small, smithy workshop, to a global, leading ice cream innovators

Our modest beginnings

It was 1901 when Hans Gram started his small, smithy workshop in Vojens. Little did he know his legacy would remain more than 100 years later, with a global footprint and leadership in the frozen industry. We have taken a long road since, keeping the ONE Gram Equipment Philosophy in our hearts.

1901
Mr. Hans Gram founds the company as an engineering works and installation business
1930
Ice cream is introduced in Denmark. In the late 1930s Gram Equipment supplies the first automatic machine for manufacture of ice cream and ice bar sticks
1953
First molding line launched. Gram Equipment receives the first order from the US for an automatic molding ice bar freezer.
1959
Established separate company for
sales & service in the USA
1978
First extrusion line delivered
2005
Gram Equipment acquire stick inserter companies Stormax and Norwood and becomes the biggest manufacturer of stick inserters in the market.
2021
Launch of the Ice Technology Center (R&D) to accommodate accurate and precise product testing. This year, we also opened a new office and production facility in Izmir, Turkey.
2023
Introduction of the Gram Equipment @ SMART Solutions, a digital future of ice cream production that delivers high-quality products with maximum efficiency and minimal waste.
