There’s a quiet strength in long-term partnerships. It’s not always about the big headlines, but rather about the shared knowledge and consistency that builds over time. That is something we have come to appreciate deeply through our long-term collaboration with YSCO.
Together with YSCO’s skilled and dedicated operator team and Gram Equipment’s experienced on-site supervisors, we undertook a triple TOC (Take Over Certificate) test for a full Extrusion line, including all downstream equipment as well the advanced Gram Equipment @ SMART Line and Gram Equipment @ SMART Cutter. The result was not only a technical success, but it was also a real-world demonstration of what can be achieved when experience and teamwork come together.
The line we developed together is remarkable in many ways. With a capacity of 36,000 pieces per hour across three rows, cutters running at 200 strokes per minute, and several advanced features for Line Monitoring and Assisted Operation technology, it stands out as a powerful production setup. And yet, the most impressive figure came from the customer’s measurement for the first 8-hour TOC testing: an efficiency above 99%.
What made the real difference was the strong relationship between YSCO and Gram Equipment. As Ignace Gruwier , the Operations Director at YSCO, noted:
"We have worked for years with the same Sales Manager and Project Manager from Gram Equipment, building a growing list of shared learnings. These learnings guide every new project, helping us improve results each time."
This structured and continuous collaboration has created a strong foundation, giving both teams the ability to improve with every joint initiative.
We have learned that genuinely listening to our customers, understanding their daily operational needs, and aligning our solutions accordingly is crucial to success. This approach ensures the solutions we develop together are practical, efficient, and tailored precisely to customer requirements.
Even as the line operated 24 hours a day, five days a week during TOC testing, it consistently delivered exceptional results. That kind of result only happens when multiple disciplines work in harmony: engineering, operational know-how, and a shared sense of responsibility. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when everyone brings their best to the table.
When the final TOC documents were signed, Ignace Gruwier humorously remarked,
“You make it difficult for yourself in the future… How will you improve on these numbers?”
It was said in jest, but it captured something real:
When collaboration works this well, the bar is naturally raised, inspiring continuous improvement and driving both companies toward even greater accomplishments.
